Our client near Wolverhampton are now looking for a number of MIG Welders for ongoing work.
Please note this position is long term work and will lead to a permanent contract for the right candidate.
Days of work are Monday to Friday although Saturdays are optional as overtime.
Rate of pay depends on your experience and skill set as a welder but can vary from £12-14.50ph.
This position can be quite fast paced as it is production work, also due to the nature of the work you must be physically fit.
Duties:
- Perform MIG welding on various metal components and structures
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and welding process specifications
- Set up welding equipment and ensure proper settings for each project
- Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications
- Use power tools and hand tools to prepare materials for welding
- Assemble and fabricate metal components as required
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a MIG Welder
- Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and welding process specifications
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and stick welding is a plus
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
Skills:
- Proficient in MIG welding techniques
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues during the welding process
